2026 Hands On History - Ages 9-12
This year we are offering 3 days of camp, each unique. Attend one or a combination.
Enter our Meeting Room in the lower level of the Dale Shaffer Research Library at 208 South Lundy
Saturday, June 13. 10am to noon. Cost: $15 each
- Take an Underground Railroad Trolley Tour to see the homes that helped fugitives escape to the north.
- Take a tour of Freedom Hall to experience a hidden room and see artifacts from our wars.
Saturday, July 11 10am to 2pm. Cost: $10 each
- Be a history detective by selecting an artifact and identify its use and value.
- Learn Victorian manners and morals from the 19th century.
- Have a classroom experience with McGuffy's readers, writing with quill pens.
- Visit the print shop next to our museum to experience how printing was done many years ago.
- Eat a historical lunch that your grandparents may have eaten when they were young.
Wednesday, August 5, 10am to noon. Cost: $10 each
- Watch Civil War reenactors in period dress.
- View and touch civil war artifacts.

- Register one week in advance of your attendance date
- Parent or Guardian must sign Registration and Permission Form
- Payment is required with the registration - use the "Remit. Payment" button here to use PayPal or Credit Card
